FOI Innovation Lab

Online Webinar Using Zoom
Tue., October 5, 2021, 6:00pm-7:30pm

Led by: Frances Keefe

This session has passed.

This will be a Zoom-only workshop, with hands on activities. Learners will be asked to participate in hands on portions of the workshop by working in their own canvas sandbox course. We will discuss some of the new tools which have been made available either as part of canvas or as add-on integrations. Tools we will explore may include:

Class Notebooks – This is an integration of Microsoft OneNote that can be used in your courses to have students create writing assignments, lab notebooks, journals etc.

Forms and Data gathering – this is a Canvas integration of Microsoft forms. We will also look at some simple uses of forms with other tools such as Qualtrics and google forms.

Mark as Done- a new requirement tool for modules that allows students to see visible checkmarks as they progress through course modules.

New Quizzes – print quiz feature and building and using new quizzes.

The Fundamentals of Online Instruction Innovation Lab is a Special Topics course. Familiarity with Canvas, and prior participation in Fundamentals of Online Instruction are recommended, but not required.

The Innovation Labs are generally a blended format, with some online and some face-to-face work. Labs on different topics will be offered every Fall and Spring.
